Initially designed for peer-to-peer transactions, Swish quickly expanded its utility, becoming a payment option for flea markets, church collections, sports clubs, and online casinos in Sweden, where traditional card readers were impractical or costly.

What Does Swish Offer?
Swish is a member of the European Mobile Payment Systems Association. On December 12, 2012, it made its debut as a payment solution designed for transactions between individual users in Sweden.
Swish operates via a smartphone app that links users' phone numbers to their bank accounts, facilitating real-time money transfers. These transactions are swift, with confirmations received by both parties within seconds.
Keep in mind
To use Swish, you need a secondary app, the Mobilt BankID Säkerhetsapp, which is an electronic ID provided by multiple Swedish banks. You also need to have an account with a participating Swedish bank and possess a national ID number.
For those with a qualifying bank account but without a compatible phone, Swish can still be set up to receive payments only.
Fees
If you are a private person and do not represent a business, Swish is entirely free for you, with no charges to send or receive money.
However, companies and registered entities incur a fee of approximately 1–3 SEK (varying by bank) for each payment received, along with a modest annual charge.
Keep in mind
Casinos and other organizations cannot pass the Swish fee onto their customers.
Is Swish Safe?
Swish integrates with Mobile BankID for optimal safety.
For added protection, you should have both the Swish and BankID apps on the same device.
By keeping your security codes private and preventing unauthorized use of the Swish app, you can keep security threats at bay.

How to Use Swish at a Casino?
Swish is tailored for the Swedish market, so to use it, you'll need a Swedish national identification number from the Swedish Tax Agency (Skatteverket).
This 10 or 12-digit number, used by banks for client identification, is assigned to everyone listed in the Swedish population register, whether native-born or a resident.
Important to know
To utilize Swish, you need an account with a participating bank like Danske Bank, Handelsbanken, Länsförsäkringar, SEB, Swedbank, Nordea, or Sparbanken Syd.
Here's how to get started with Swish:
- Get a Smartphone – The Swish mobile payment service is smartphone-based. Get the Swish app from the Google Store, Apple App Store, or Huawei AppGallery. After downloading, you can link up to three different phone numbers to your Swish account.
- Connect Your Phone Number & Bank – Open your bank's app, head to settings, and follow this path: Manage Services > Swish > Connect new number > Order Swish. Enter your phone number and confirm with the verification code.
- Register with a Swish Casino – Find a reliable casino that supports Swish, create an account, and navigate to the deposit page. From the available options, choose Swish.
- Determine Your Deposit – Specify the amount you'd like to deposit, which will be directly debited from your bank account.
- Confirm with Mobile BankID – After entering the deposit sum, you'll be rerouted to the Swish app. Here, finalize the transaction using your mobile BankID.
Once done, revisit the casino site to see your updated balance. The deposit amount should be reflected in your player account almost instantly.
Is Swish Worth It?
Swish offers a secure and real-time payment method tailored for Swedish casino players, backed by prominent local banks and integrated with Mobile BankID.
However, in my opinion, its exclusivity to Sweden, smartphone dependency, and bank limitations might not suit everyone. For a more universally accepted option, choose from Visa casinos.
